Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting payroll operations, with a particular focus on payroll tax processes and multi-state payroll management. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in handling payroll for large organizations and demonstrate the ability to streamline manual processes for greater efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage full-cycle payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing for over 500 employees.
- Handle multi-state payroll tasks, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Organize and process payroll tax reporting, deposits, and returns, addressing notices and inquiries as needed.
- Assist in data extraction and organization from payroll systems, including EV5 and Vantage.
- Support the setup of payroll operations for new sites and locations within the organization.
- Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements, including automation and workflow optimization.
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.
- Manage administrative tasks such as compiling data, preparing spreadsheets, and addressing tax-related correspondence.
- Act as a resource for payroll-related inquiries, offering insights and recommendations to improve operations.
- Work closely with funding processes, including wires and invoicing, to ensure financial accuracy. Requirements
- Proven experience in full-cycle payroll management for organizations with 500+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance.
- Expertise in payroll tax processes, including deposits, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and other payroll systems.
- Proficiency in managing manual data processes and organizing information across multiple sources.
- Ability to identify opportunities for automation and implement tools like macros or bots.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing complex payroll tasks.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external agencies.
