In this long-term contract position, you will oversee a range of payroll processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and accuracy in employee compensation. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the energy and natural resources industry by managing critical payroll functions and supporting organizational operations.
Responsibilities:
Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies. Maintain and update employee salary structures, pension plans, and union dues records. Prepare and review month-end payroll reports, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring all accounting entries are accurate. Monitor compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements and other regulatory standards. Audit payroll data and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy in reporting. Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and insurance matters in a timely manner. Collaborate with internal teams to manage requisitions and resolve payroll-related issues. Oversee payroll functions for floating employees, including tracking hours and calculating payments. Generate statistical reports and analyze payroll data to support management decision-making. Ensure proper documentation and compliance management for all payroll processes. Proven experience in payroll management, including processing and compliance. Strong knowledge of regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and other labor laws. Proficiency with payroll systems and tools, including About Time or similar software. Familiarity with accounting functions, month-end reporting, and reconciliation processes. Ability to ensure accurate documentation and maintain compliance with company policies. Excellent analytical skills for auditing, statistics, and QA management. Strong communication skills to address employee inquiries and collaborate with teams. Experience handling union dues, pension plans, and related payroll structures.
