Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant and Payroll Clerk to join our team. This vital role combines administrative support with payroll management responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations and accurate employee compensation processing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, technical proficiency with payroll and accounting software, and a proactive approach to handling sensitive information. Responsibilities Manage payroll processing using platforms such as PayPros and Tekion ensuring timely and accurate employee payments. Perform data entry for payroll, benefits administration, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger transactions utilizing Tekion accounting software. Reconcile accounts through detailed analysis of financial data, including general ledger reconciliation, account reconciliation, and journal entries. Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollment updates, leave tracking, and compliance documentation. Maintain precise records of payroll transactions, employee data, tax filings, and audit documentation in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations. Support human resources functions by maintaining HRIS records and assisting with onboarding or employee inquiries related to payroll or benefits. Conduct routine account reconciliations involving debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting procedures to ensure financial accuracy. Prepare reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and other financial analyses to aid management decision-making. Collaborate with accounting teams on month-end closing activities including journal entries and ledger updates. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality while providing excellent administrative support across departments. Experience Proven experience in payroll management using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex ,Kronos, PayPros or Tekion. Strong background in accounting practices including general ledger accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting or corporate finance. Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar financial management tools is essential. Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy with proficiency in 10 key typing skills. Knowledge of benefits administration processes and HRIS systems is highly desirable. Experience performing account reconciliation, analysis skills related to financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries and double entry bookkeeping. Prior work involving accounts payable/receivable functions or tax experience adds value to your application. $22.89 - $27.57 per hour
