Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll-related inquiries, delivering outstanding customer service. Accurately upload, process, and verify payroll data to ensure timely payment for all employees. Perform payroll coding corrections using Viewpoint and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Prepare and report certified payrolls, addressing any issues that arise. Record and manage all pay related to Short-Term Disability (STD), maintaining thorough electronic documentation. Ensure employee changes are entered correctly and promptly in payroll systems. Input fuel usage reports and maintain detailed records. Track and manage hourly and salary vacation, sick leave, and other time-off balances. Respond to unemployment claims and employment verification requests with professionalism and accuracy. Prepare and submit required reports to local and government agencies, maintaining compliance. Help team members with other projects as needed. Qualifications To excel in this position, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in each essential duty and possess the following qualifications: Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience in a data processing environment or at least one (1) year of payroll operations experience. Exceptional alpha/numeric data entry skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Skills & Competencies Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word and Excel), email, and a willingness to learn new software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high ethical standards. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact across all organizational levels. Ability to manage individual deadlines and work collaboratively within a team to achieve collective goals. Work Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check. Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a vehicle. Consistent attendance and punctuality at designated start times. Strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures. Team-oriented mindset, with willingness to assist colleagues and supervisors as needed. Willingness to travel and work away from home as required. Flexibility to work nights and weekends when necessary. Compliance with OSHA and/or MSHA regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas. Physical Requirements Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person. Proficient use of computers for communication, document preparation, and data management. Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift objects up to 30 lbs. unassisted. Occasional exertion of pushing or pulling forces up to 10 lbs.
