Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Specialist and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this energetic role, you will manage payroll processes with precision, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for our employees. Your expertise will support our commitment to fostering a positive workplace environment by maintaining seamless payroll administration, benefits processing, and compliance. Responsibilities Process weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees across 5 states accurately and efficiently using Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate. Verify timecards, work hours, pay rates, job information from manual timecards. Maintain current knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, city, state, and federal laws concerning payroll Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries. Maintain and update employee records within Payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll transactions. Administer benefits programs, including deductions, tax withholdings, and compliance with governmental regulations. Conduct account reconciliation to verify payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly. Support tax reporting processes by managing tax experience data and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Assist in payroll related audits for worker's compensation, prevailing wage and 401(K) employee retirement plans. Collaborate with colleagues to streamline payroll procedures and improve overall efficiency. Requirements One to two years of prior payroll experience preferred. Experience with multi-state payroll preferred. Must have strong attention to detail and organization skills. Must have strong ability to plan and prioritize tasks and deadlines. Knowledge of payroll taxes, benefits, wage and labor laws. Expertise in technical accounting tasks like account reconciliation, analysis skills, and data entry accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining high attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills combined with proficiency in 10 key typing and bookkeeping practices. Proficient knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
Pay:
