Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant/Payroll professional to join our team. This multifaceted role offers an exciting opportunity to manage essential financial operations, support administrative functions, and ensure accurate payroll processing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong technical accounting skills, and possess a passion for maintaining precise financial records. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and integrity of our organization's financial health and administrative workflows. Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure all financial data is precise and up-to-date. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Prepare journal entries, conduct balance sheet reconciliation, and assist in month-end closing activities. Oversee payroll processing using payroll software, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation while adhering to tax regulations and reporting requirements. Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and financial analysis to support organizational decision-making. Support administrative functions such as data entry (including 10 key typing), document management, and correspondence related to financial operations. Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations through meticulous recordkeeping and reporting. Experience Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles. Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Knowledge of corporate accounting practices with familiarity in governmental or non-profit accounting is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform account analysis, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation accurately. Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and financial report writing. Experience managing payroll processes along with tax experience related to payroll taxes is preferred. Familiarity with budgeting processes and technical accounting standards will be considered an asset.
