The ideal candidate will be experienced with QuickBooks and capable of independently handling accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, vendor management, receipt processing, and general bookkeeping duties. This role requires approximately 10 hours per week and is ideal for someone who can efficiently maintain accurate financial records while supporting the ongoing needs of the business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take ownership of the company's daily accounting functions, maintain accurate records, manage vendor relationships, process payroll, and ensure the financial operations run smoothly with minimal oversight. Responsibilities Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting functions using QuickBooks. Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting functions using QuickBooks. Process and enter vendor invoices, bills, receipts, and other financial transactions. Handle all Accounts Payable (A/P) activities, including invoice verification and payment processing. Maintain organized digital and physical accounting records. Post journal entries and ensure accurate coding of transactions. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts on a regular basis. Process payroll twice per week and ensure timely and accurate employee payments. Maintain payroll records and assist with payroll-related reporting. Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, account balances, and inquiries. Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies or concerns to management. Assist with month-end financial reporting and account reconciliations. Support external accountants, CPAs, or tax preparers as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and standard accounting practices. Prior experience in public or corporate accounting preferred but not required This position offers an opportunity to work within a professional environment where accuracy and integrity are valued. The Bookkeeper / Accountant will be instrumental in maintaining the financial health of the organization through precise payroll management and accounting practices. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required). Experience with Accounts Payable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and general ledger posting. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and vendor management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience supporting small businesses or multiple entities. Familiarity with payroll tax filings and reporting requirements. Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on experience. Flexible schedule. Approximately 10-20 hours per week.
