Job Description
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Payroll Specialist for our well-established client in Fresno, CA. This is a full-time role paying $22-$25 an hour depending on experience. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly accurate Payroll Specialist to manage and process employee payroll. This role is responsible for ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, payroll expertise, and a commitment to confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees accurately and on time Maintain and update payroll records, including wages, deductions, and tax information Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, and other compensation adjustments Handle payroll tax filings and ensure timely payments Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits Coordinate with HR and Finance teams on employee data and compensation changes Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred Knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Preferred Qualifications Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification Experience processing multi-state payrolls Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits deductions All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
