Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join a service-focused organization in California. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can manage payroll activities accurately and efficiently for a mid-sized employee population while maintaining compliance with wage and deduction requirements. The role requires hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing, garnishments, and ADP payroll systems. You will play an important part in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on time for a workforce ranging from approximately 200 to 400 employees.
  • Review timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings to ensure each payroll run is complete and compliant.
  • Administer garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and update employee pay information, deductions, and direct deposit details as needed.
  • Use ADP payroll systems to enter, validate, and reconcile payroll data before final submission.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by working with employees and internal stakeholders to correct issues promptly.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and support audits by providing accurate documentation and records.
  • Stay current on payroll laws, policies, and standard procedures to help maintain ongoing compliance.
