The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting various accounting and HR functions. This role requires proficiency in multiple payroll and accounting software platforms, along with strong analytical skills to handle complex data entry, reconciliation, and reporting tasks. The Payroll Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting our human resources and financial operations, contributing to the overall efficiency of our organization. Responsibilities Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems set in place. Ensure accurate data entry for employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information. Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions. Administer employee benefits programs and assist with benefits administration tasks. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements. Support accounts payable and receivable functions related to payroll expenses. Collaborate with HR to ensure proper employee classification and recordkeeping. Prepare reports on payroll data for management review and audit purposes. Assist with governmental reporting requirements related to payroll taxes and other statutory obligations. Perform general ledger reconciliation related to payroll accounts and ensure accuracy in financial statements. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial management tasks. Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis of payroll data. Skills Proficiency in payroll management systems. Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. Experience with financial software like QuickBooks or other accounting platforms. Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration processes. Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills). Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and tax regulations related to payroll. Analytical skills for account reconciliation, financial analysis, and reporting. Understanding of non-profit accounting practices is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments including human resources and finance teams.
