Job Summary Job Summary Our District is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to join our team in anticipation of an upcoming vacancy. Position Overview The Payroll Specialist performs skilled and responsible clerical, record-keeping, and computational work related to the accurate processing and distribution of employee payroll and benefits. The start date is contingent upon completion of fingerprinting and TB clearance. This position is based in San Luis Obispo at the District Office within the Fiscal Services Department. Candidates who successfully pass the initial screening and submit all required documents will be invited to take an examination scheduled for May 26, 2026. Details regarding the exam date, time, and location will be provided to qualified candidates after the screening process. Candidates who pass the written examination may be invited to participate in oral board interviews, which are also planned for May 26, 2026. Successful completion of the oral board interview is required to be placed on the eligibility list. The top three (3) candidates, based on combined exam and interview results, will be invited to a final hiring interview (date to be determined).
