Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, onsite We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll operations for a multi-state, high-volume workforce. This Payroll Specialist role is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to build expertise in payroll processing, compliance, and reporting in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with accounting and operations to ensure accurate and timely payroll, support certified payroll reporting, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist Support weekly payroll processing by reviewing, auditing, and entering timecard data across multiple systems Assist with payroll calculations, including wages, overtime, benefits, and adjustments Prepare and support certified payroll reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state requirements Maintain accurate employee classifications, including union, apprentice, and craft roles Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting, audit support, and year-end processes Respond to employee payroll inquiries and help resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Utilize payroll systems such as Paylocity and Viewpoint (or similar) for processing and reporting Partner with internal teams to improve processes and maintain data accuracy Payroll Specialist Qualifications 1-2 years of experience in administrative, HR, accounting, or payroll support Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Basic Excel skills and comfort working with data Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn Exposure to payroll, construction, union, or certified payroll environments is a plus Interest in growing a career in payroll, accounting, or HR operations Why Join This Payroll Specialist role offers hands-on experience in multi-state payroll and compliance, providing a strong foundation for long-term career growth.
