Job Description
Description We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a construction-focused team in Englewood, Colorado on a Contract basis. This short-term assignment will focus on accurate payroll processing and accounts payable support in a fast-paced environment. The role is well suited for someone who can manage high-volume payroll tasks, maintain organized financial records, and contribute immediately during a two-week engagement with potential for longer-term opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Administer weekly payroll for field employees and subcontracted labor, ensuring timely and accurate pay processing.
- Handle bi-weekly payroll activities for office-based staff while maintaining compliance with applicable pay practices.
- Review, enter, and reconcile payroll information for a multi-state workforce with close attention to detail.
- Support accounts payable operations by processing vendor bills, monitoring payment schedules, and maintaining accurate records.
- Oversee recurring payment accounts and help ensure automatic payments are tracked and posted correctly.
- Use QuickBooks Desktop Contractor edition or a comparable platform to maintain payroll and payables data.
- Coordinate with internal team members to resolve payroll discrepancies, invoice questions, and payment-related issues. Requirements
- Experience managing full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing and reconciliation.
- Ability to process payroll for large employee populations, including environments exceeding 500 employees.
- Working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and related compliance considerations.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and general payroll systems.
- Background supporting accounts payable functions, including invoice handling and vendor payment activity.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop, preferably within a contractor or construction setting.
- Strong accuracy, organization, and time management skills in deadline-driven environments.
