Payroll Specialist TriSource - 3.9 Washington, DC Job Details Temporary $26 - $34 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications English Research Payroll management Data management Attention to detail Construction industry experience Full Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll operations for a growing construction company with approximately 105 employees. This role will be responsible for compiling and reviewing payroll data submitted from the field, coordinating payroll processing through Foundation software, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with payroll processing, has strong organizational skills, and can manage multiple moving pieces while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Process and support weekly payroll for approximately 105 employees Review, audit, and compile payroll data submitted through HeavyJob and Connecteam systems Prepare and transmit payroll information to Foundation for payroll processing Verify payroll accuracy including hours worked, deductions, PTO, garnishments, and employee changes Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll questions Maintain payroll records and payroll-related documentation Process manual checks and assist with check distribution as needed Coordinate with field employees and supervisors to ensure timely payroll submissions Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Assist with employee onboarding paperwork, payroll setup, and employee status changes Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information Provide administrative and HR support as needed Qualifications 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred Experience processing weekly payroll for hourly employees Construction, contracting, or field-service industry experience preferred Familiarity with Foundation, HeavyJob, Connecteam, or similar payroll/timekeeping systems preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of DC labor laws is a plus HR support experience is a plus Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred but not required Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills Ability to work independently and handle confidential information professionally Preferred Background Experience working with field-submitted payroll data and timekeeping systems Comfortable in a small company environment with cross-functional responsibilities Experience supporting payroll, administrative, and HR-related tasks within construction or skilled trades environments
