Position Information Classification Title Payroll Technician II FLSA Non-Exempt FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience Preferred Qualifications Experience working in higher education. Bachelor's degree preferred. Position Summary The Payroll Analyst position is part of a customer-focused team responsible for oversight and processing of the University of Georgia (UGA) payroll (approximately 25,500 W-2s generated). Responsibilities include preparation, updating and maintaining payroll related records, data files for payroll processing, as well as resolution of payroll issues and customer service. This position will prepare the biweekly and monthly payrolls by analyzing queries and reports in the OneUSG Connect system and resolving any issues. This position will notify distributed departments of payroll errors and determine the best path to resolution. Responsibilities also include updating and maintaining Time Reporter data, proactively analyzing system data to determine pay inconsistencies, assisting with the process of biweekly overpayments and retro pays, troubleshooting timeclock issues, and working with both distributed units at UGA and Payroll Analysts at the University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) to resolve any payroll related errors on the biweekly payroll. This position must be flexible and have the ability to be productive in a high-stress, fast-paced environment and meet stringent production deadlines. This position coordinates between The University System of Georgia (USG), the Shared Services Center (SSC), and UGA distributed departments regarding payroll related issues including: time and labor payroll processing, time reporter data updates, and general time reporting questions. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Run and analyze queries and reports to process the biweekly and monthly payrolls. Find errors and resolve all issues prior to confirming payroll. Contact distributed departments to inform them of corrections that are made. Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities Assist Senior Financial Accountant with the Retro Pay and Overpayment process for biweekly payrolls. Assist in calculations and ensure payments are processed correctly on employee paychecks. Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities Research and answer questions from distributed departments using both the Team Dynamix and Service Now ticketing systems. Monitor payroll tickets to ensure all tickets are resolved in a timely manner, or are assigned to the appropriate resource. Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities Assist with troubleshooting timeclock issues across campus. Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities Run reports and queries to monitor Time Reporter Data to ensure all employees are set up correctly in OneUSG Connect.
