Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with 1-2 years of experience to support our payroll and accounting functions. This role is responsible for assisting in the accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining employee records, and supporting compliance with applicable regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop skills in payroll and gain exposure to broader accounting functions in a growing organization. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing Assist with processing weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees Review and validate timekeeping data for accuracy and proper approvals Input payroll data including hours worked, adjustments, deductions, and bonuses Audit payroll registers and reports prior to final submission Employee Data & Record Management Assist with maintaining and updating employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, and changes) Ensure data accuracy across payroll and timekeeping systems Assist with payroll-related onboarding documentation and setup Compliance & Reporting Support payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Assist with payroll tax reporting and filings as needed Prepare and distribute internal payroll reports for management Employee Support Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll processes Assist with resolving discrepancies in a timely and professional manner Support process improvements and documentation efforts within payroll and accounting Qualifications Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 1-2 years of payroll, accounting, or related experience required Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Basic understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, formatting, basic formulas) Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms is a plus Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-state payroll Exposure to accounts payable or general accounting functions Experience in a fast-paced or high-growth environment
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
