The Opportunity CRST is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team in Cedar Rapids, IA. In this role, you'll own the day-to-day execution of high-volume payroll cycles for both office employees and drivers - making sure every paycheck is accurate, timely and compliant. This is a high-accountability role for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, stays calm under volume and knows that payroll accuracy is one of the most trust-sensitive things a company can get right. You'll partner closely with operations teams, respond to employee inquiries and keep the payroll engine running without interruption.

Comprehensive package including medical, dental and vision coverage; prescription drug and telemedicine services; company-paid life and disability insurance; retirement savings with company match; paid time off, holidays and parental leave; plus additional voluntary benefits and employee discounts What You'll Do Process biweekly office payroll and weekly driver payroll accurately and on time Review and audit employee timecards, identify missing approvals and correct discrepancies before payroll is finalized Audit and correct leave pay, overtime rates, state tax codes, PTO pay, orientation pay, sign-on bonuses, referral pay and operations team coding Process court-ordered garnishments including child support orders, state tax levies and other wage withholding requirements Review and apply employee tax status changes and miscellaneous payroll system updates Perform manual data entry with a high degree of accuracy Build and run payroll reports to support cycle balancing, deduction audits and 401k reconciliation Conduct final balance checks of coding, deductions and 401k contributions prior to payroll release Monitor and respond to high-volume shared inboxes from employees and operations teams Handle inbound calls from drivers and office employees regarding pay questions Partner with operations teams to resolve timecard discrepancies and coding errors What Great Looks Like Payroll cycles close on time with minimal errors or corrections after release Employees and drivers receive accurate, timely answers to pay questions Garnishments and tax updates are processed in full compliance with applicable requirements Discrepancies are caught and resolved before they become paycheck problems Operations teams see you as a reliable, responsive partner What You'll Bring High school diploma or GED 2 or more years of experience in payroll processing or a related administrative role Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook Ability to perform high-volume, repetitive work accurately and consistently Ability to learn quickly and apply new information in a fast-paced environment Going the Extra Mile Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, business or a related field Experience processing multi-state payroll Familiarity with multi-state tax requirements and garnishment processing Prior experience in transportation, logistics or a high-volume payroll environment Why
