Job Description

We're looking for a Union Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Des Moines area. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in getting the details right. What You'll DoOwn the Payroll ProcessProcess weekly payroll for union field employees (ironworkers, operators, laborers)Accurately calculate wages, overtime, double time, and contract-specific pay rulesReview timecards and job coding to ensure precision and complianceBe the Union & Compliance ExpertInterpret and apply multiple collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)Manage union deductions, including dues, benefits, and pension contributionsEnsure compliance with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirementsPrepare and submit reports to union benefit fundsDrive Accuracy & AccountabilityReconcile payroll, union reports, and general ledger entriesSupport audits and ensure all reporting is timely and accurateServe as a trusted resource for payroll questions from employees and managementQuickly resolve discrepancies and ensure employees are paid correctly and on timeWhy You'll Love This RoleBe a key player supporting skilled union tradespeople in the fieldWork with a stable, growing construction company with consistent project flowGain exposure to complex, high-impact payroll operations (multi-state, union, certified payroll)Collaborate with operations, finance, and field leadershipEnjoy competitive pay and strong benefits
