Paychex Full Job Description Position Overview:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees, including those covered by union contracts or collective bargaining agreements. This specialized role requires a strong understanding of both standard payroll procedures, and the unique regulations and reporting requirements associated with unionized workforces.

Key Responsibilities:

Processing payroll for union and non-union employees, including salaries, bonuses, incentive compensation and statutory deductions Reviewing time tracking outputs (timesheets, etc.) for accuracy and compliance with both company and union guidelines, if applicable Ensuring that the payroll system accurately calculates and withholds deductions, including union dues, benefit plan contributions, and other deductions and benefits required by collective bargaining agreements Reviewing and approving payroll registers, reconciliation, funding reports and statutory filings prior to submission Maintaining and organizing detailed and sensitive payroll records, including employee information, wage changes and deduction selections Serving as a point person for payroll issues, ensuring timely and accurate resolution Assisting with payroll tax filings, garnishments, benefit deductions, and statutory requirements Partnering cross functionally with Human Resources on employee lifecycle changes (hires, terminations, compensation changes, benefits) Monitoring legislative changes and ensuring compliance with tax regulations, labor laws, and reporting requirements

EXPERIENCE

: Minimum 3 years of payroll experience Hands-on experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, Paylocity). Paylocity experience strongly preferred Prior experience processing union payrolls is a definite plus Multi-state payroll experience required

Pay:

$26.00 - $34.00 per hour
