Keep the fluff to a minimum and just tell us who you are. We are a small, but mighty, Accounting and Investment Firm that is family and has been in business for over 60 years. Hearns & Accounting works with many large and small businesses clients, corporate and non. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help us streamline financial operations, support budgeting efforts, and uphold the integrity of our financial data. Join us to make a meaningful impact through precise bookkeeping and payroll management. Duties Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including journal entries, account analysis, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as Accounting CS, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and others. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately Prepare and review payroll using payroll software, ensuring timely payments and compliance with tax regulations Conduct account reconciliation tasks including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Generate detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing and budget reports for internal review Maintain comprehensive records of all transactions, including debits & credits, journal entries, and tax-related documentation Requirements Proven experience with accounting software such as Accounting CS, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and technical accounting concepts Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and government compliance requirements Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately Excellent organizational skills with 10 key typing proficiency for data entry tasks Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and prepare clear reports Experience working in public accounting or with financial concepts related to budgeting and account analysis Join our team to leverage your accounting expertise in a collaborative environment that values precision, transparency, and continuous improvement.
