Full Job Description Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
Accurately process payroll for employees, including review of time sheets, calculations of wages, deductions for taxes, insurance, housing, AR, and reporting of benefits, in a fast paced, seasonal business, with varying pay types, significant seasonal fluctuations. Ensure timely and accurate issuance of paychecks or direct deposits. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status. Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy.
Compliance:
Assist HR with ensuring payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax laws and wage and hour laws. Stay current with changes in labor laws and regulations and assist with implementation of necessary changes to payroll practices. Review payroll-related reports and tax filings as required by government agencies, prepared by In-Flow Payroll Tax Services Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Administrative Support:
Assist ownership with bill payments and appointment scheduling vendor payments strong organization skills
System Management:
Maintain and update In-Flow software systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, in conjunction with others. Troubleshoot and work to resolve any system issues or discrepancies. Generate and analyze payroll reports for management review.
Other Duties:
Assist with special projects related to payroll and benefits as needed. Participate in training and development programs to stay informed about best practices and changes in regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing and compliance, preferably in a similar role.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency with payroll software (knowledge of UKG a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, with SharePoint a plus). Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
Payroll certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)) is a plus.
