Job Description:
The SES HR and Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate administration of human resources and payroll functions within our school district. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of HR and payroll operations, from onboarding to payroll processing and employee benefits administration. The HR and Payroll Specialist serves as a liaison between employees, administrators, and external agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with posting vacancies and maintaining job boards. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring completion of all required documentation, background checks, etc. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, certifications, and employment history. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and school policies. Process payroll bi-weekly, including calculating salaries, deductions, and withholdings. Balance and pay Federal, State taxes, PERF, TRF, 401A, 403B, VEBA all other payroll related deductions Reconcile monthly health, dental, vision, and life/LTD bills and process payments Maintain sick/personal/vacation time for employee groups who receive these benefits Maintain employee PTO records, including FMLA and Workers' Compensation Prepare teacher contracts and track extra-curricular contracts for payroll distribution Pay all lay coaches, maintain ECA pay for certified staff and prepare stipends for employes Maintain sick bank days for certified members Handle time and attendance tracking and resolve payroll discrepancies. Assist employees with benefit inquiries and enrollment. Address employee questions and concerns related to HR and payroll issues. Collaborate with school administrators to resolve disputes or conflicts as needed. Analyze HR and payroll data to identify trends and make recommendations for process improvements. Other Duties as Assigned by the Superintendent
Job Qualifications:
Previous experience in an HR setting or Payroll processing preferred, but not required. Preferred knowledge in Boyce BSF but not required Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Ability to obtain and maintain a public fidelity bond of $40,000

Compensation:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, 12-month salaried position with benefits. Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, Summer hours Monday-Friday 8am-3pm
