Job Description
KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a growing organization in search of a Payroll Analyst to join its Payroll & HR Operations team. This position serves as a key support and control function focused on payroll auditing, compliance, reporting, systems support, and process improvement within a complex, multi-state environment. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with strong analytical skills, advanced systems experience, and the ability to support both strategic payroll initiatives and hands-on payroll processing when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed audits of payroll data prior to finalization, including wages, taxes, deductions, and timekeeping information Review multi-state payroll tax withholdings for compliance and accuracy Support payroll processing during high-volume periods and critical deadlines Assist with payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements Manage and audit third-party vendor file feeds and integrations Troubleshoot payroll system discrepancies in partnership with internal teams and vendors Develop payroll reports and analysis using advanced Excel skills Partner with HR and Benefits teams to ensure accurate deductions and reporting Assist with internal and external audit requests and compliance reportingQualifications:
5+ years of progressive payroll experience Experience with multi-state payroll processing and payroll auditing Background supporting HRIS/payroll system implementations and integrations Experience working in multi-entity or high-growth environments preferred Exposure to industries such as services, construction, field services, or union environments Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reporting tools) Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Ability to manage confidential information with discretionHybrid:
