This organization is known for its stability, positive work culture, and commitment to supporting professionals across the state. This Payroll Specialist project offers the chance to work with a highly regarded organization that values collaboration and professionalism. It's a great fit for a payroll professional seeking flexible Summer hours while making an immediate impact! This Payroll Specialist will be the sole individual dedicated to payroll for a newly established, standalone payroll setup supporting a specific project. The expectation is that this individual can walk in, open ADP Workforce Now, and run payroll independently. This position is ideal for an experienced Payroll Specialist who has processed payroll recently and enjoys jumping in, owning payroll processes, and ensuring accuracy every step of the way. Key Responsibilities for the
Payroll Specialist:
Independently manage end-to-end payroll processing biweekly for 35-50 employees across Maryland, DC, and Virginia using ADP Set up and maintain employee payroll profiles, including earnings, deductions, adjustments, and taxes Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and internal policies Reconcile payroll data and review reports for accuracy Maintain confidentiality and handle payroll with a high level of ownership and accountability Qualifications for thePayroll Specialist:
2+ years' payroll processing experience Strong knowledge of multistate payroll laws, regulations, and best practices Demonstrated ability to run payroll beginning to end without training Recent experience using ADP Workforce Now required High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines Comfortable working independently in a project-based environment and taking ownership of special project payroll Basic Excel skills requiredLocation:
Annapolis, MD (onsite or hybrid depending on project needs)Duration/Timeline:
Ideal start date June 1, 2026. This project will last about 8-10 weeks.Schedule:
Part-time, 20–25 hours per weekSalary:
