Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support a manufacturing operation in Battle Creek, Michigan. This Contract position will oversee accurate and timely payroll processing while helping maintain compliance with payroll policies, tax requirements, and employee records. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with end-to-end payroll administration and can step in quickly to support a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Process full-cycle payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring earnings, deductions, and taxes are calculated correctly.
  • Manage payroll activities across multiple states while maintaining compliance with applicable wage and tax regulations.
  • Review timekeeping, pay adjustments, and payroll inputs to identify discrepancies and resolve issues before payroll is finalized.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and support updates related to compensation changes, tax forms, direct deposit, and deductions.
  • Partner with internal teams to answer payroll questions, research variances, and provide clear resolution to employees and management.
  • Support payroll administration within Paylocity and work across related payroll platforms as needed to ensure smooth processing.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and reconciliation activities to confirm data accuracy and support business requirements.
