ROLE OVERVIEW
Our season kicks off in April and runs through November, with the possibility of extending into December. As a seasonal team member, you'll enjoy winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or pursue the activities you love— while still keeping your benefits all year long. This position is responsible for compiling payroll data, enters data and reconciles errors to maintain payroll records. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
(summary of components that make up the job) Complete weekly payroll processing steps in a timely, efficient and accurate manner. Input data from time sheets, production records, or electronic sources into the payroll system. May reconcile reports of time to active employees (where applicable). Support timecard data entry or import from external sources. Responsible for balancing payroll runs. Answer employee questions and trouble shoot errors/issues to resolve in a timely manner. Working with supervisors/foreman to verify and resolve problems/issues with payroll. Review and correct errors from previous payrolls. Analyze wage changes prior to payroll processing. Where applicable, submit Davis-Bacon trust transfer amount weekly, coordinate monthly Davis Bacon deposit, verify certified payroll reporting and sub-contractors reports and report non-scale jobs information for federal or state reporting. Enter and update wage scale rate table templates. Input Paid Time off and Sick requests Collaborate and coordinate with Payroll Shared Services Verify accuracy of re-employment earnings and hours. Working with Payroll Shared Services, verify child support and wage garnishments. Interact and communicate with HR and Accounting on a continual basis. Workforce Central submissions as needed Support and complete SOX, accounting or other related compliance activities. Complete wage or employment verifications for outside parties. Submit Accrual payrolls as needed per calendar Submit weekly payroll reports to PRSS Print and mail prevailing wage statements. Print and mail EEO Information as needed Create Job Aids and help with process improvements Scanning and Indexing of Payroll related items. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
(types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily) Strong data entry skills and attention to detail. Strong math and analytical skills. Intermediate computer software skills including the use of spreadsheet and word processing software. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self -motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements) High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Organized and accurate.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
(preferred requirements i.e. certifications, software use, etc.) Some post-secondary education in business, accounting or job field related. 1-2 years' experience in a payroll, accounting or business-related position.
COMPENSATION
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on experience
