Job Description

Little Blue Valley Sewer District, a public agency created in 1968, operates two wastewater treatment facilities in Jackson and Cass counties in western Missouri with offices located in Independence. The district serves a growing region in the eastern and southeastern Kansas City metropolitan area with a combined treatment capacity of 54 MGD encompassing approximately 278 square miles of land area and has a reputation for environmental excellence. Pay Range:
$31.46 - $47.18 per hour We are looking for an
ACCOUNTANT/PAYROLL SPECIALIST!
This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees, some work various shifts for our 24/7 operation, and supporting essential accounting functions while handling sensitive and confidential information.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Processing payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Supporting accounting and financial recordkeeping functions
  • Preparing routine reports, correspondence, and documentation
  • Working independently or collaboratively across departments
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality standards
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university OR o Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Payroll experience (experience with 24/7 operations and/or union payroll is a plus)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment
  • Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with staff at all organizational levels
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets LBVSD policy requirements Monday-Friday, Full-Time, Hourly Non-Exempt, Non-Union Position open until filled.
