Payroll Specialist Bryan Health United States, Nebraska, Lincoln Feb 26, 2026
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for processing the payroll and all related payroll duties associated with that process for the Bryan Health System. Compiles, prepares, and reconciles payroll data associated with the Health System financial requirements to outside customers and/or employees within predetermined deadlines. Maintains control for accuracy and timeliness of data received and follows up as needed with customers to ensure complete and accurate payroll records for the Health System.PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.- Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2.
- Balances and reconciles earnings and deduction totals. Processes retroactive wage adjustments. 3.
- Calculates adjustments to previous checks. 4.
- Reviews and verifies validity of information received for payroll processing from other departments.
- Inspects automated system output such as registers and standard reports. 10.
- Determines and corrects out of balance conditions. 11.
- Calculates wage and overtime payments and payroll deductions. 12. Assists with the processing of manual checks as needed. 13.
- Checks and audits timekeeping records for compliance with established standards by Wage and Hour Administration and Medical Center policies. 14.
- Maintains time and attendance records. 15.
- Posts and maintains employee W-4 and Direct Deposit information. 16.
- Processes and maintains wage garnishments, levies, child support orders and jury duty pay according to legal requirements. 17. Calculates and processes all Short-term disability, maternity and FMLA for bi-weekly payroll entry. 18.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of payroll processing and regulations. 2. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. 3. Knowledge of customer service philosophies and practices. 4. Skill in operating a personal computer, and general office equipment. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff. 7. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills. 8. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information. 9. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision. 10. Ability to analyze problems, identify priorities and implement effective work strategies. 11. Ability to work effectively with frequent deadlines and conflicting priorities. 12. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in accounting or equivalent related experience required. Minimum of two (2) years payroll experience in a comparable size and type of facility preferred.SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend overtime is required every other weekend prior to payroll Friday.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
