Job Description

Location This position may be performed with flexible working arrangements, including a mix of work from home and in-office work. Scooter's Coffee is headquartered in Omaha, NE. The successful candidate lives in Omaha, NE. Relocation is not available for this role. Description The Payroll Specialist will support the payroll function for Boundless Enterprises, Harvest Roasting, Scooter's Coffee, and Boundless Operations. Primary responsibilities include the timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll for all employees. In this role, you will use your strong organizational and multitasking skills to help streamline processes, maintain excellence in recordkeeping, and deliver a seamless employee pay experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Process payroll on a weekly basis for exempt/non-exempt employees and multistate payrolls for multiple companies Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates, bonuses, commissions, and ad-hoc paycheck changes Processes wage garnishments, completes and responds to garnishment notices and notifies employees appropriately Monitor changes and remain current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, tax matters) Prepare manual payroll checks, voids, and stop payments as necessary Reconcile payroll disputes Prepare and audit routine or ad hoc reports as requested Withholding/unemployment tax application administration Yearend W-2 preparation/distribution Monthly Bureau of Labor statistic reporting Employment verification Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent level of experience required 2-4 years of payroll experience Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently Comprehensive knowledge payroll principles Willingness to adapt to change and take on challenging projects Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong proficiency is MS Office, especially Excel Disclaimer The functions and skills described here are general in nature and represent the type of work performed, but they do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job.
