Job Description

Accela Healthcare is a well-established long-term care provider in New Jersey seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our corporate team. This is a key position responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our dedicated staff across multiple nursing facilities. The Payroll Specialist will manage the full cycle of payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of payroll systems in a healthcare or long-term care environment. Responsibilities Process bi-weekly payroll for multi-site long-term care staff in compliance with company policies and applicable laws. Maintain accurate payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, benefits, and wage adjustments. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws. Assist employees with payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies with professionalism. Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accuracy in reporting and data integrity. Generate payroll reports as needed for audits, management review, and compliance. Qualifications Previous payroll experience required (2+ years preferred). Experience in healthcare, long-term care, or multi-site payroll strongly preferred. Working knowledge of payroll systems, preferably Empeon (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Kronos, or similar). Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws in New Jersey. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Why Join Us?
