Job Description
Responsible for day-to-day payroll system support, including troubleshooting interface issues from external vendor. Analyze data files for completeness and reasonableness before processing. Audit information against payroll register, collaborate with HR & IT resources to resolve system rejections for missing/incomplete data. Respond timely to employee inquires received into Oracle ticket system. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding and company deductions. Ensure payroll is produced in accordance with statutory reporting and filing requirements. Analyze various payment files, calculate, review, verify and post a variety of complex payroll data fields such as gross pay, retirement, repayments, retroactive payments, hours, and tax information. Collaborate with new hires on self-service portal issues. Establish and maintain garnishment and court ordered wage cases. Provide training to new hires and new timekeepers on using API (time system). Troubleshoot timecard issues and assist with responding to employee and timekeeper inquiries regarding time system. Respond timely with PTO / hours entered into API time system. Maintain knowledge of Company PTO policy. Collaborate with HR on PTO balance inquiries Perform and support all internal and external audits related to payroll. Investigate and resolve issues relating to payroll production. Maintain all documents & tax records involved in the processing of a given pay period in a secure and confidential manner. Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and interpret new legislation impacting payroll. Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or commensurate experience preferred 3+ years Payroll experience Member of American Payroll Association with CPP or FPC preferred Excellent organization and time management skills Experience using API time system Oracle experience a plus Attention to detail and accuracy are top priority Strong written and verbal skills Ability to work under pressure and high stress situations Ability to multi-task & be flexible to changing priorities Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential matters Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws
