Job Description

Soni Resources is partnering with a luxury retail client near Windsor, NJ, in the search for a Payroll Associate . This role will support full-cycle Canadian payroll processing while also assisting with U.S. payroll operations and cross-training to provide backup coverage across the payroll function. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, takes initiative, and is looking for an opportunity to grow into increased ownership and responsibility over time. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, supporting compliance efforts, and assisting with ongoing payroll and HR systems initiatives, including Workday HRIS implementation activities.
Responsibilities:
Learn and support full-cycle Canadian payroll processing, with progression toward independently managing payroll cycles Assist with U.S. payroll processing and cross-train to provide backup support as needed Maintain accurate employee payroll records, deductions, earnings, and employee data Prepare and process Canadian Records of Employment (ROEs) and year-end payroll reporting forms Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and payroll-related reporting Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner Support payroll compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and state regulations Assist with HRIS and payroll system initiatives, including Workday implementation testing, data validation, and process support Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency within payroll operations Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and leadership teams as needed
Qualifications:
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred 1-3 years of payroll experience Biweekly, hourly & salary Experience with payroll processing systems is required Experience with Payworks, Paylocity, and/or Workday is strongly preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, grow, and take on increased responsibility over time Experience within luxury retail or a retail environment is a strong plus
Compensation:
$60,000 - $70,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications. #SONICNJ
