Job Summary:
Process timecards, computes and processes payroll and related withholdings. Compiles, prepares and maintains payroll reports and statistics including but not limited to, Form 941, State Unemployment Tax, Workman's Comp., New Mexico Withholding, Pension, Benefits, W2's. Under general supervision performs various clerical and routine accounting tasks in support of the finance department.
Core Competencies:
Basic accounting practices, principles, and Fund Accounting. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Knowledge of payroll practices and principles. General knowledge of all accounting process and procedures. Ability to use an automated accounting system. Basic data entry and/or word processing skills. Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Programs and accounting systems (preferred). Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all employees and group. High attention to detail and high organizational skills. Excellent math skills. Good communication skills; verbal and written.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma with four years of experience or Associates degree with two years of experience.
