Construction Payroll Specialist Compensation:
$90,000 - $100,000/year + bonusLocation:
Nassau County, NY Schedule:
Monday to Friday (In-Office) Atlantic Group is hiring a Construction Payroll Specialist in Nassau County, NY for our client. In this role, you will support union payroll, certified payroll compliance, and construction accounting operations while processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field and office employees. You will maintain union wage and fringe data, ensure accurate payroll reporting, and partner with project managers, HR, and accounting leadership on job costing, reconciliations, and payroll compliance. Responsibilities as theConstruction Payroll Specialist:
Payroll Processing:
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for field, office, and union employees while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Union & Certified Payroll:
Maintain union payroll records and prepare certified payroll reports in compliance with applicable requirements.Labor Classification Support:
Coordinate job classifications, labor allocations, and payroll compliance across active projects.Payroll Reconciliation & Reporting:
Reconcile payroll balances and support job costing, journal entries, and related financial reporting.Issue Resolution & Administrative Support:
Resolve payroll questions, maintain documentation, and assist with audits and related accounting support. Qualifications for theConstruction Payroll Specialist:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.Experience:
3+ years of payroll and accounting experience with direct construction and union payroll exposure is required, ideally within a project-based environment.Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of certified payroll requirements, prevailing wage laws, union agreements, labor classifications, job costing, and project accounting is required.Technical Skills:
Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, Kronos, Paylocity, COINS, or similar platforms and advanced Excel skills are preferred.Skills & Attributes:
Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment are essential.Application Notice:
