Payroll Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, data entry skills, and proficiency in accounting software. Responsibilities Process payroll for employees on a regular schedule, ensuring accuracy in calculations and compliance with applicable laws. Perform data entry tasks related to payroll, including new hire information, terminations, and changes in employee status. Utilize financial software such as Sage 300 to manage payroll records and generate reports. Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure all payroll transactions are accurately reflected in the financial statements. Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies or issues and resolve them promptly. Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions as necessary. Collaborate with HR and management to address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters. Assist with various accounting and reporting tasks as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in corporate accounting or a similar role with a focus on payroll processing. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with financial concepts and accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Sage 300 is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills to evaluate payroll data and resolve discrepancies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
