Job Description

The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator will perform a variety of functions ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation, documentation, processing, and distribution of payroll. This position will also administer employee benefits and leave programs within the organization. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of various employee leave laws including FMLA and
PFL. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave of absence policies.
  • Understands the union contract as it relates to all payroll and leave related items.
  • Ensure compliance and timely administration of FMLA, PFL, and other employee leave.
  • Utilize HRIS software including ISolved Complete Payroll Systems to administer employee pay, benefits, and reporting.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims to include proper form documentation through benefits administration.
  • Gathers and tracks time records of employees and verifies/calculates hours worked in order to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Maintain regulatory reporting compliance related to payroll and benefits administration.
  • Prepare and analyze data related to employee benefits participation to inform decision making and policy adjustments.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in employment law.
  • Conduct employee orientation sessions to educate new hires and current employees about company benefits.
  • Primary point of contact for employee population, both union & non-union, related to benefits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
    Human Resources:
    3+ years of experience in human resources and benefits administration.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law.
    • Ability to complete data collection and analysis.
    Qualities:
    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive employee workplace and contribute to employee well-being. Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
    EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
    : High School diploma and 3+ of human resources experience.
    Preferred:
    Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
    Pay:
    $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
