The Payroll Intern functions as a payroll assistant supporting the department in the accurate and compliant administration of payroll-related processes. This role focuses on payroll functions, employee onboarding, and data maintenance while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The intern will work across departments to ensure system accuracy and compliance, providing essential support to the Payroll Services Manager and the broader team.General Duties/Responsibilities:
Train with the Payroll department to develop professional and interpersonal skills Attain proficiency in the payroll system to facilitate the processing of small-batch payrolls. Facilitate the new hire onboarding process by providing administrative support and guidance via phone and email. Administer and verify Federal I-9 documentation to ensure strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards. Execute internal auditing projects and manage the weekly reconciliation of the "Missing Personnel" report. Support the administration of employee benefits by learning foundational concepts and assisting with benefit-related reporting. Maintain organized, secure, and confidential payroll and benefit records through systematic filing. Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.Requirements:
Must be 18+ years or older Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc.) Completed at least two years at an accredited college or university Major in Business or Accounting Detailed oriented and organized Team player Strong analytical skills Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and an ability to work with numbers/simple math.
