JOB DESCRIPTION
General Purpose The Payroll Administrator uses their broad functional knowledge to support day-to-day Payroll processes. They perform routine and ad hoc tasks such as providing frontline support for payroll inquiries, issuing off cycle checks, and completing administrative activities of low to moderate complexity. The person will work as part of a larger Payroll Operations team and use standard practices and documentation for completing their activities, while recommending updates based on their experience. Responsibilities of this position include the following: Applies broad functional knowledge to execute pay & time processes and activities, including data entry, reporting and auditing, data imports and exports, and off cycle check processing. Identifies and troubleshoots issues with processes, tools or data and may propose changes to established processes and participate in execution of those changes Provides elevated inquiry support for a wide variety of Payroll inquiries and requests with moderate complexity - actively triaging, resolving, and/or escalating each item as defined by service level agreements. Relies on established operating procedures to run routine and ad hoc reports, integrations (imports/exports) and data audits, and could propose ideas for process improvement. Identifies errors and issues that occur during process and could troubleshoot and resolve, escalating more complex issues to ensure timely completion. Could perform other duties such as special projects and initiatives related to role. May choose to participate in non-related initiatives as part of growth and learning objectives Ensures highest level of confidentiality, privacy and risk mitigation are maintained through cognizant communications (written and verbal), validating legitimacy of data requests, securing data sources (paper, electronic, etc.) and reporting any possible breaches immediately. Requirements for this position include the following: High School Diploma or equivalent; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years' experience in Payroll, with general knowledge of payroll related policies, practices, and procedures. Attention to detail, ability to determine variances and resolution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with all levels of an organization; ability to work as a member of a team. Proficient with the use of personal computers and common business applications, such as Microsoft Office (email, excel, word).
Preferences:
Experience working with SAP and/or ADP Payroll systems. Understanding of payroll processing and banking. Knowledge of the electric utility industry and IT operating processes.
