Under administrative direction, plans, directs, and organizes the activities of the Payroll Services Unit responsible for the delivery of payroll services provided to local education agencies (LEAs) utilizing the Advantage Human Capital Management (HCM) application of the enterprise resources planning (ERP) system, including payroll cycle processing and compliance, garnishment administration, and tax reporting services. Required Education and Experience Education:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, human resources management, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience:
Five years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing, including developing and implementing policies and the utilization of enterprise-level business systems. Two years of the required general experience must be in a supervisory capacity.
Additional Requirements:
Experience in a public agency is preferred. Possession of a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification is desired. A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
