  • ENR Top 500 Firm Position Details This is a hybrid position, requiring 2+ days/week in the Eden Prairie, MN office.
In-office days will vary based on training, department meetings and payroll schedules. Primary Purpose The HR and Payroll Coordinator supports the daily operations of the HR and Payroll functions by ensuring accurate employee data management, timely payroll processing, and compliance with employment regulations. This position acts as a critical link between HR, payroll, and employees, providing administrative and operational support across various HR functions. The role also serves as a primary payroll backup and supports department-wide initiatives. Major Responsibilities Assist with new employee onboarding to ensure accurate completion of payroll and benefits documentation Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records, including processing personnel changes and uploading documentation into employee files Manage the HR Support inbox by responding to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner or directing requests to the appropriate team member as needed Ensure reconciliation of data between HRIS and timekeeping systems Review and post weekly timesheets Assist in administration of FMLA and other leaves of absence; coordinating related payroll, benefits, and time off impacts Serve as the primary backup for semi-monthly payroll processing Assist with generating and compiling reports to support organizational data requests and HR-related reporting needs. Respond to various employment-related requests such as employment verifications and garnishments Prepare and reconcile weekly paid time off (PTO) accruals Support HR with internal audits and general recordkeeping compliance Provide back-up support for the company receptionist as needed Assist with miscellaneous administrative projects and HR department support Minimum Requirements Education Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field Relevant experience may serve as alternatives to a formal degree processing preferred Experience 2+ years experience in HR Admin and payroll processing preferred Experience with UKG Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Outstanding knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems (e.g. UKG) Proficiency in Excel Understanding of general HR policies and procedures Working knowledge of employment/labor laws Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally Problem solving aptitude Team-oriented mindset Physical Demands of Position Seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling. Working Conditions Standard office environment, On-site office environment, and diverse industrial/construction environments. Frequent PC usage, fax machines, copy machines, and phones.
