Job Description

Payroll and Benefits Clerk The Carmelite System is a multi-state not-for-profit senior living organization sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged & Infirm. The Carmelite Sisters operate a network of 14 skilled nursing facilities throughout the United States. We are seeking to hire a Payroll and Benefits Clerk. This is a hybrid remote role requiring easy commute distance to our Germantown, NY office for in-office responsibilities. $24.50 to $26.50 per hour based on skills and experience.
Payroll and Benefits Clerk Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Business, Accounting or related related field. 3-5+ years of experience with payroll/timekeeping software (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, UltiPro). Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams). Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to use V-Lookup/Pivot tables preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Payroll and Benefits Clerk Job Summary:
Process Bi-weekly Payroll. Assist with additional Payroll Processing related tasks on Bi-weekly/monthly basis. Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately. Act as an alternate payroll processor in the absence of the Payroll Administrator. Assist with internal audit of Bi-Weekly/Quarterly/Annual payroll-related data and reports. Assist in reviewing, and documenting, current Payroll/Timekeeping processes. Maintain employee records in the core payroll system (new hires, terminations, transfers). Ensure proper documentation of employee benefits, leave balances, and salary adjustments. Assist the HRIS team with preparing check requests for garnishments, benefits deductions, and reconciliation of all related employee deductions.
