Irving (HYBRID)Description:
One of our clients is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely processing of employee compensation . This role works closely with Payroll Management, Accounting, HR, and Benefits teams to maintain compliance and deliver high-quality payroll services. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing & Administration- Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 450 employees (exempt and non-exempt)
- Audit payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and employee changes
- Review and validate timesheets from the time management system
- Prepare manual checks and adjustments as needed
- Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of federal, state, and Social Security withholdings
- Reconcile payroll reports and financial data
- Maintain accurate and timely payroll records Compliance, Policy Interpretation & System Management
- Interpret and apply company pay policies, including vacation, leave of absence, disability, and workers'''''''' compensation
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll laws and stay current on regulatory changes
- Support internal and external audits, including tax filings and workers'''''''' compensation documentation
- Document payroll processes and procedures
- Serve as a liaison between employees and third-party payroll vendors
- Configure and maintain payroll and time management systems (earnings, deductions, garnishments, etc.) Reporting & Vendor Coordination
- Assist with payroll reporting for Accounting, HR, and Benefits teams (per payroll, monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Create and upload payroll tax and direct deposit files to external vendors Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in special projects and process improvements as assigned Qualifications & Skills
- Experience with payroll processing in a multi-employee environment
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance and tax regulations
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in payroll systems, preferably Dayforce
- Strong communication and organizational skills
