Posting Details Posting Number S417P Job Title Payroll Coordinator (Staff Assistant,SL-2) Application Deadline 04/26/2026 Department Human Resources FT - PT Full Time Part-time % Minimum Salary $51,261 + $4,000 (Location Pay) Maximum Salary $54,949 + $4,000 (Location Pay) Description Purchase College is seeking an individual to join the Human Resources/Payroll Office team as the Payroll Coordinator.
Responsibilities will include:
processing multiple campus payrolls, resolving payroll discrepancies, processing various timesheet pay differentials (i.e. overtime, standby, night-shift differential and holiday payments) for all classified employees in various bargaining unions (CSEA, PBANYS, NYSCOPBA employees), processing Student Assistant and College Work Study employee hires and data in an HR system, maintaining accurate records, answering payroll inquires, running reports & other payroll related duties. Qualifications College degree preferred. Two (2) years of recent payroll experience required. Payroll experience in a public agency highly preferred. Candidate must possess strong communication (written and verbal), customer service, problem resolution, & time management skills. Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel.
