Payroll & HRIS Administrator Correctional Healthcare Partners - 1.0 La Jolla, CA Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $85,000 a year 15 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible schedule Qualifications Financial data reconciliation Payroll tax Paylocity Regulatory compliance ADP HR legal compliance Employment & labor law Attention to detail Cross-functional collaboration Cross-functional communication Workday Excel data analysis Full Job Description Payroll & HRIS Administrator Payroll Operations (Primary Focus) Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time for approximately 400 employees, including salaried, hourly, and contracted clinical staff. Manage payroll tax setup and compliance across all active jurisdictions; coordinate with Finance on new state registrations as the company expands. Administer wage deductions, garnishments, 401(k) contributions, benefit deductions, and direct deposit changes. Reconcile payroll registers against the general ledger and resolve discrepancies in partnership with the Finance team. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including wage and hour laws. Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing, tax reconciliation, and audit preparation. HRIS Administration (Secondary Support) Serve as the HRIS administrator for payroll-related data, ensuring accuracy of employee records, compensation, and job data. Maintain data integrity within the HRIS and support reporting needs for payroll, HR, and Finance. Manage user access and permissions related to payroll and employee data. Support system updates, enhancements, and data audits related to payroll and benefits. Assist with HRIS implementations, upgrades, and testing as needed. Benefits & Compliance Support Ensure accurate benefits deductions and alignment between payroll and HRIS data. Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and investigate discrepancies. Support open enrollment, qualifying life events, and payroll-related benefits changes. Maintain compliance with ACA reporting and other applicable regulations. Required Qualifications 3-5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience (200+ employees required). Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements. Experience working within an HRIS/payroll system (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG, Rippling, Paylocity, Paycor). Experience with benefits deductions and payroll reconciliation. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations). High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential data. Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Workday or similar enterprise payroll/HRIS platforms.
