Job Description:
Position Overview We are partnering with a valued client in Clearwater, FL to identify a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with expertise in high-volume, multi-state, and union payroll processing. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role will be fully onsite initially, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule once converted to a direct employee, based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities Process high-volume payroll accurately and on schedule across multiple states and jurisdictions Administer union payroll, including handling union dues, benefits, wage scales, and collective bargaining agreement provisions Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations Maintain accurate payroll records, including earnings, deductions, garnishments, and benefits Reconcile payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly Manage multi-state tax registrations, filings, and reporting requirements Partner with HR, Accounting, and union representatives to ensure accurate interpretation and application of payroll policies Prepare and review payroll reports for internal stakeholders and audits Support year-end activities, including W-2 processing and tax reconciliations Stay current with evolving payroll laws, tax requirements, and union regulations Qualifications 3+ years of experience in high-volume payroll processing Proven experience with multi-state payroll (required) Strong background in union payroll administration (required) Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Paycom, or similar platforms) High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
