Job Description Part-Time Payroll Specialist (Bilingual - English/Japanese)
Location:
Houston, TX (In-office initially; remote transition after onboarding)
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Monday-Friday) Position Overview Client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations on a part-time basis. This role will begin in-office in Houston for training and onboarding (approximately 1-2 months), then transition to a remote work arrangement. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Japanese and has experience managing payroll processes accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Process employee payroll accurately and on time Maintain payroll records, including wages, deductions, and tax information Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Assist with payroll audits and reporting Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries Coordinate with HR and accounting teams on payroll-related matters Support data entry and updates in payroll systems Qualifications Bilingual in English and Japanese (required) Previous payroll or accounting experience preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Familiarity with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong organizational and communication skills Additional Details In-office presence required in Houston during initial training period Opportunity to transition to a fully remote role after onboarding Consistent weekday schedule within core business hours
