Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join an accountancy team in a contract-to-permanent role. This position is ideal for someone who can manage payroll activities with accuracy, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and build confidence with tax-related processes over time. The successful candidate will support payroll operations, reporting, and employee-related payroll research while using tools such as QuickBooks and Excel to keep work moving efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with routine filings, including work related to Forms 941 and 942
- Review and handle payroll garnishments, deductions, and related recordkeeping in accordance with established guidelines
- Research payroll questions and prepare follow-up correspondence to help resolve outstanding issues
- Use QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to enter, track, reconcile, and organize payroll information
- Support ongoing payroll administration tasks by identifying discrepancies and helping correct them promptly
