Job Description

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Collierville, Tennessee in a contract capacity with the potential for a long-term opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who is highly accurate with numbers, comfortable managing payroll records, and committed to providing dependable support to employees and internal departments. The position focuses on ensuring payroll is processed correctly, maintaining organized documentation, and assisting with payroll-related inquiries in a timely and reliable manner.
Responsibilities:
  • Review payroll information for accuracy, identify discrepancies in timekeeping or wage calculations, and resolve issues before payroll is finalized.
  • Gather and organize employee hours, production details, and related payroll data from time records and supporting documentation.
  • Confirm attendance, hours worked, and compensation changes while updating payroll records with approved adjustments.
  • Prepare and distribute paychecks along with earnings and deduction statements in accordance with established payroll schedules.
  • Maintain employee payroll files by updating records for status changes, tax exemptions, transfers, and separations.
  • Process payroll corrections, including retroactive pay updates and adjustments related to prior errors.
  • Create and evaluate weekly departmental payroll reports to support tracking and analysis.
  • Assist employees with questions related to payroll information and provide support for access to the employee portal.
  • Complete employment and income verification requests and manage department mail and digital filing in an organized, paperless environment.
