Job Title Payroll Administrator I Agency Texas A&M University Department Payroll Proposed Minimum Salary $4,000.00 monthly Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description A Glimpse of the Job The Payroll Administrator I provides semi-complex payroll accounting services. Collaborates with representatives and coordinates pay calculations. The Payroll Administrator I is involved in all aspects of payroll processing within the Payroll Services department of the Division of Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness. Submits, reviews, researches, audits and approves payroll transactions and submission.
Essential Duties/Tasks:
Payroll Processing
  • I nvolved in all aspects of payroll processing within the Payroll Services department of the Division of Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness.
Submits, reviews, researches, audits and approves payroll transactions and submission. Ensures payrolls are processed accurately and timely. Maintains and updates payroll records. Processes and issues employee paychecks/statements of earnings and deductions. Payroll Questions
  • Collaborates with representatives and coordinates pay calculations. Assists HROE staff and HR Professionals with routine & semi-complex technical and procedural situations to resolve payroll issues. Responds to and resolves inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Auditing
  • Reviews and researches payroll discrepancies and reports findings. Distributes payroll reports. Compliance
  • Assists in policy and procedural compliance with Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University System, State of Texas and Federal standards, policies and procedures. Other Duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

$4,000 monthly
Special Instructions:

Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. No experience required. Preferred Qualifications Previous payroll, higher education, or Texas A&M University experience. FPC or CPP Certification through PayrollOrg. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication. Customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to comprehend and apply rules and regulations in a complex environment. Practical knowledge of governmental and higher education operations in specialized field preferred. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Other Requirements and Factors This position is security sensitive. This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures. All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.
