Payroll Assistant Ultimate Staffing Services - 3.8 Dallas, TX Job Details Contract 17 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Payroll Assistant Job Description Job Summary The Payroll Assistant supports the payroll department by ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves processing payroll data, maintaining records, handling employee inquiries, and assisting with compliance and reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Assist in processing payroll for employees (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) Verify employee time records, attendance, and deductions Input and update payroll data in payroll systems Ensure accuracy of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions Maintain payroll records and employee files in compliance with company policies Respond to employee questions regarding pay, benefits, and deductions Assist with tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefits administration Generate payroll reports for internal use and audits Help ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Support year-end processes such as W-2 preparation Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred in accounting, finance, or HR) Previous experience in payroll, accounting, or administrative support (1-2 years preferred) Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar) Basic understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to handle confidential information Good communication and customer service skills Problem-solving and analytical abilities All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
